Provides small amounts (between $50 and $100) for emergency veterinary care to people in the Northern Nevada / Lake Tahoe area who are on fixed incomes or with annual incomes below the federal poverty guidelines. It is always a one-time grant. Accepted emergencies include: Hit by car, toxin exposure, bite wounds, urinary tract infections, upper respiratory infections/pneumonia, laceration repairs, fractures, abscess (including anal sac), seizing, vomiting, diarrhea, straining to eliminate, difficulty breathing, paralysis, euthanasia, infections, torn toenails, and foxtails.
